Job Purpose Summary

  • To grow own brand sales with existing and new franchise/wholesale partners whilst upholding a high level of customer satisfaction and with direct responsibility for the international franchise business.
  • To plan, deliver and maintain product for Hamleys International in accordance with the Hamleys Asia export target.
  • To support the Head of Business (Franchise) to exceed the Group’s sales whilst creating consistency amongst stores and protecting the Hamleys brand.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Responsible for driving the franchise/wholesale product export sales with existing accounts
  • To exceed all KPI’s and sales export targets
  • To give daily trading support to international partners by analysing sales data and highlighting opportunities and risks
  • Manage and distribute the international range plans
  • Work with franchisees and the UK buying team to develop range offers
  • Manage the overall International requirement by working with UK B&M, Q&A and Hamleys Asia teams
  • Work closely with the International Merchandisers to secure best possible fulfilment of orders
  • Work closely with the International Merchandisers to ensure all International orders are placed and phased in as planned in conjunction with international cash flow forecasts
  • Provide international analysis and feedback to the Head of Business (Franchise), Head of Merchandising and Head of Buying.
  • Provide ad hoc data and analysis as required
  • Undertake full lessons learnt analysis to improve Hamleys provided contribution & product offering in location
  • Assist and support the Head of Business (Franchise) in business development / new business / new markets & territories
  • Undertake franchise visits as required
  • Build a strong dynamic working relationship with all partners and with the UK and Hamleys Asia teams
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently to all departments that are affected by International operations
  • Support and manage the on-boarding of new franchise partnerships and store openings
  • Identify people/structure opportunities with support in upskilling and training to aid the creation of high-performing franchise teams
  • Track record of organising and delivering global events, conferences and territory workshops to educate the markets on brand activities, growth drivers and brand standard.

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office and strong knowledge of Excel and Island Pacific or similar merchandising system (desirable).



  • Degree educated from a merchandising/retail management or similar discipline (desirable).
  • Additional language skills (desirable).


Business and Selling Skills:

  • Previous experience of retail/wholesale account management.
  • Managing and negotiating costs to adhere to budgets.
  • Retail operations background (desirable).
